COVID-19 Research - Decision Insights for Business and Society (DIBS)

COVID-19 Research Area(s): Economics & Business

This study aims to understand the attitudes and behaviors of people within the Metro Vancouver Area around public transportation in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated physical distancing measures. We will be asking participants to report their behaviours prior to physical distancing measures were put in place, their current behaviours, and their predicted behaviours in the future. We will also be asking them to think about and report how other people should be acting in the future versus how people will actually act in the future. The main purpose of this study is to understand how personal transportation behaviours are changing and to understand why. These results can help researchers to suggest actions that TransLink (Metro Vancouver's Public Transit Authority) should take now and moving forward to get the public on board with taking public transportation once COVID19-related restrictions are lifted.
