Harmonized Review Project: Assessing Dyspnea using Virtual Care during COVID-19 Pandemic (ADViC2)
COVID-19 Research Area(s): Healthcare Delivery & Policy
Shortness of breath is a symptom frequently reported by patients in the primary care setting and patients with COVID-19 infection. Most short of breath patients require a physical exam, which may not be desirable during the COVID-19 pandemic. There is an urgent need for evidence-based clinical tools to assist primary care providers in assessing patients with shortness of breath virtually. Our study aims to investigate a clinical tool to correlate an objective score to a patient's oxygen saturation among low-risk patients. It may be incorporated into a holistic approach to virtually assess patients in a primary care setting.
