Remote preventive dental health education for school-aged adolescents.

COVID-19 Research Area(s): Epidemiology & Public Health

Two novel approaches of remote oral health education are going to be used for school-aged adolescents: remote team-based learning and remote reminder strategy.

In the present study we test the effectiveness of two novel approaches for preventive education in school-aged adolescents which are: Team-Based Learning (TBL) and dental education through the Reminder Strategy. Our interventions are carried out remotely through Zoom and students are participating from home. We expect that promoting oral health in adolescents remotely instead of face to face education during the current pandemic period presents some additional benefits such as connecting remotely with peers, increasing motivation to participate as currently focus on health gained more attention, i.e. being connected may be beneficial for students’ general and mental health.
