Empathy and Distance Learning during COVID-19

COVID-19 Research Area(s): Mental Health & Wellbeing, Social Impacts

The study explores teachers experiences with empathy in distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. It hopes to describe examples of how beliefs, pedagogy, curriculum or relationships have been impacted by distance learning during COVID-19. The research also hopes to gain understanding of how learning during a pandemic may change the value of empathy in curriculum. The preliminary questionnaire will look to gather teacher perspective on empathy's place in distance learning, and the subsequent set of interviews hopes to describe more specific examples of empathy in curriculum and pedagogy.
