The Outreach Project: COVID-19 Adaptation

COVID-19 Research Area(s): Healthcare Delivery & Policy, Social Impacts

The purpose of this project is to test the effectiveness of an adapted outreach intervention to a) sustain engagement of hidden and hard-to-reach women with outreach support workers; b) provide women with essential life-sustaining resources; c) increase women's adherence with health and social services; and d) enhance capacity for physical distancing. This research uses community-based participatory research approaches and specifically targets women who are most likely to be lost to follow up care and experience a disproportionate burden of violence in society. They are also women who require essential life sustaining supports to optimize social and physical distancing in the DTES during a pandemic response.
